ASU uses an electronic critical tracking system called eAdvisor® ( This system tracks a student’s academic progress several times each semester to ensure that the student is making successful academic progress in his or her chosen major.  In brief, eAdvisor® identifies specific (“critical”) requirements that must be met each semester to guarantee that the student progresses toward graduation in a timely manner.  Critical requirements include specific courses (these are identified on the major map), minimum grades and GPA. If a student doesn’t meet a critical requirement in a given term, then they will be notified via email that they are off track and the off track status will be displayed on the student’s MyASU page.    A student who is off track will be required to meet with his/her advisor before they will be cleared to register for next semester’s classes.  A student who is off track for two consecutive semesters may be required to change their major.
