Please review the following updates for the Computer Science programs (MCS, MS, and PhD):
“B” Grades Required for Area Courses
All Computer Science students must achieve a grade of “B” or higher (not a “B-”) in the three area courses listed on their plan of study and to complete the degree. The program handbooks will be updated to include this new policy. This policy applies to all students admitted in Spring 2012, and will be applicable to all new students from this point forward.
* Changing degree programs includes: moving from PhD or MS to the MCS (or vice versa), students who move out of or into a concentration, and students who move from Computer Engineering to a Computer Science program. This policy does not apply to students in the Computer Engineering degree program.
New Systems Area Courses
The following courses have been approved as Systems area courses and will be updated in the handbooks:
The Computer Science Graduate Program Committee has agreed to allow a grade of “B-” grade or above to clear the waiver for a deficiency through the Spring 2012.
