Gearing up for Spring 2012

It’s hard to believe that we are midway through the fall semester. Registration for spring semester will begin at the end of October (which is just around the corner)! The spring 2012 schedule will be available for viewing on October 21.

  • Attention all Sophomores/Juniors/Seniors: The spring 2012 semester will start earlier compared to previous years. Spring 2012 will begin on Thursday, January, 5. Refer to ASU’s Academic Calendar on MyASU for more information.
  • All semesters from spring 2012 and forward will have three sessions: A, B, and C. Session “A” will be 7.5 weeks in length and (for SP12), will begin on January 5. Session “B” will be 7.5 weeks in length and (for SP12), will begin on February, 29. Session “C” will be 15 weeks in length and (for SP12), will begin on January 5. Visit the Academic Calendar for Spring 2012 for more detailed information. All CSE/IEE/CPI courses will be offered during the “C” session (15 weeks in length). We highly recommend that you keep all of your classes in the “C” session (although you may see options for some classes in 7.5 week sessions as well as the 15 week sessions). As always, students may not take more than 19 semester hours for the entire semester (all sessions combined). All class registration, including the late start “B” session, must be completed before the drop/add deadline for session “C” to qualify for financial aid/scholarships and to meet visa status requirements. Visit https://students.asu.edu/calendarchanges/students to view frequently asked questions regarding the spring schedule changes.
  • Students who have an “advising hold” will need to meet with Allison or Susan prior to Spring registration. Simply visit MyASU to see if you have an advising hold (or any other type of hold). Students may schedule an advising appointment through our online appointment website: https://fultonapps.asu.edu/advising/.
  • Freshman students who have not yet seen an advisor or attended a Freshman Group Advising Session are encouraged to attend a Group Advising Session next week. There are three sessions left with seats available. Reserve your seat now in Group Advising session by going to http://engineering.asu.edu/cidse/advising/ugrad/newStudents.
