Giulia Pedrielli is currently Assistant Professor for the School of Computing Informatics System Design Systems Engineering in Arizona State University. She was previously postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering at National University of Singapore and Department of Mechanical Engineering of Politecnico di Milano. She was also research fellow for the Institute of Industrial Technologies and Automation within the National Research Council, Italy, (ITIA-CNR). She has been a visiting Ph.D. student at University of California Berkeley (USA), Department of Industrial Engineering & Operations Research (IEOR) during the period August 2011 – June 2012 collaborating with Professor Lee W. Schruben.
She develops her research activity in the area of stochastics and simulation with a particular interest in simulation based optimization. She has dealt with applications in several domains: manufacturing including automotive and de-manufacturing, power systems, supply chains, automation and warehousing, and health care. She is increasingly involved in real time control under uncertainty in the domain of cyber-physical systems including robotics.
