Why engineering management?

In addition to the diverse career opportunities available in engineering management, the following aspects of the program curriculum offered at CIDSE makes engineering management unique:

Strong management skills foundation

The graduate will leave with a deep understanding of current management and leadership principles. Academic bridges have been built to our W.P. Carey School of Business allowing our undergraduate students to take foundation courses in accounting, finance, economics and management. This business foundation is quite unique for any bachelor’s in engineering.

Industry focus areas

The graduate will leave with a complex understanding of at least one industry sector based upon the focus area they select.

Creating the business foundation

Engineers are being asked to “have one foot in the technical camp and the second foot in the business camp”. This means engineers must understand the business ramifications of their designs and their improvements.

Accreditation

The engineering management, BSE program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org. Student enrollment and graduation data are available at engineering.asu.edu/enrollment.
